Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Bard College, Rhinebeck, Saratoga, Saratoga Springs and numerous skiing and waterfront sport venues are in close proximity.

Films, concerts and theater are available at places like the new Frank Gehry designed concert hall at Bard College and Upstate Films in Rhinebeck, in Hudson and many other locales. The Dutchess and Columbia County Fairgrounds and the adjoining villages and towns have year-round events such as firemen parades, Fourth of July, farmers market and antiques and crafts fairs, year round. Orchards for fruit picking are all around. The beautiful Hudson River Estates of Olana, Clermont and Montgomery Place are also nearby.
